I have kept and worked with animals all my life. I gained my first job at an Inernational Show Jumping School at 11 before working in a number of small, local rescue centres and collection units until my GCSE's. After I studied a Btec National Diploma in Animal Care and went on to study a Degree in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare. As part of my studies at University I investigated rabbit behaviour, specifically aggression. This lead me to open my own Rabbit Rescue that soon developed into an all animal rescue. Situated in my home and on a small holding, I rehomed a vast range of species and most benifited some level of rehabilitation process with me. It was here it became apparent to me the quantity of animals rehomed due to problem behaviours and the difficultie their owners were having dealing with them. Whilst running the animal rescue and from my experience working in other rescue environments, I began to gain a greater understanding of the quantities and reasons the animals were arriving at various rescue centres and thus I decided to tackle the root of the problem and work with owners aswell as pets. In many cases this has prevented the animals arriving at the rescues in the first place. So, I decided to reduce the ammount of animals I accepted for rehoming and focused my time more on Animal Behaviour. Gradually I stopped the rehoming and gained more experience in a number of collections untill now, I am happily helping the public, help their pets!
Don't forget, I have experience with animals in many different environments and Industries, Including; Rescue/Kennels (Large and Small), Grooming/Handling, Game/Working Animals, Aquariums, Vivuriums and Terreriums. Public Exhibits, Animals Interactions with People with Learning Difficulties Stables/Yards, Farms and Small holdings and Exotic Rooms.
